The Corporate Accounts Data Analyst is responsible for preparation, analysis and auditing of programs and margin data; provide analytical data and interpretation of such data to assist customer base and Sales staff. Developing tools, recommendations, and/or strategies to promote revenue growth and optimize margin for the company. This may be performed through various analysis methodologies, building financial models and reports, mining data, forecasting activity and then turning data into actionable recommendations and clearly presenting the findings.

Essential Duties

• Utilize business intelligence software and other internal systems to extract data and conduct various types of analysis on sales and cost of sales data. This includes historical trend analysis, forecasting, what-if analysis, as well as product and customer analysis.
• Conduct analytics and reporting as necessary including, but not exclusive to, mix optimization studies, geo-mapping, operations performance reviews, marketing and customer behavior analysis, competitive intelligence, financial modeling, forecasting and statistical analysis, database development, budgeting support, etc.
• Identify causes for negative business trends (i.e. margin compression) and develop solutions for sales team and WAXIE as a whole.
• Audit pricing & costing contracts to ensure optimal profitability and compliance.
• Analyze customer behaviors and purchasing data and identify possible areas for deeper customer penetration, optimizing supply chain logistics and/or growing WAXIE’s overall customer solution.
• Analyze current pricing and costing levels, item mix, and available contracts to maximize company profitability working collaboratively with management.
• Compare current customer and product data with adjacent product markets and competitors to identify opportunities and recommend future sales initiatives to management.
• Conduct audits of various item and customer classifications and coordinate corrections of any erroneous data.
• Prepare findings and recommendations using critical thinking skills, objective analysis, and cost-benefit considerations and present them in an effective way to a cross-section of decision makers so they can act upon your discoveries.
• Communicate regularly, either verbally or in writing, completed or ongoing projects to drive awareness and maintain momentum of ongoing activities and results.
• Create and validate both standardized and custom reports using Excel, AS400 and business intelligence tools to support the sales force and management.
• Ensure data integrity across all databases and reports.
• Manage data clean-up process, if needed, by utilizing workflows and diagrams and collaborating with data owner (business unit, MIS).
• Prepare presentation materials with input from the Corporate Accounts Team for internal communications such as business reviews, executive staff meetings, project findings, etc.
• Upon request, be part of the task force deployed for customer site visits to perform discovery and due diligence in an effort to enhance current offerings and/or generate new customers.
• Support implementation and adoption of technological tools rolled out by company to support the sales solution (VMI, SharePoint, Power BI, etc.).
• Research competitive landscape, potential customer demand, suppliers, and other aspects of markets related to sales opportunities.
• Provide short-term/quick turnaround support for analysis requests at the direction of department leader(s).
• Regularly synthesize large amounts of data into actionable recommendations and presentations for management review.
• Partner with leadership of shared service and operating units to develop and refine requests for analyses, establish and achieve deadlines, and present findings.
• Identify opportunities to streamline data processes and report generation.
• Create new or modified methods and procedures to improve report content, accuracy, ease and efficiency of access.
• Comply with all security policies and procedures to ensure that the highest level of system and data confidentiality, integrity, and availability is maintained.
• Coordinate account maintenance administration for assigned Corporate Accounts and Network Services Accounts with operations and internal sales group.
• Other duties as assigned.


• Broad knowledge and experience in business management/business operations
• Functional knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Working knowledge and experience with Business Intelligence and reporting software
• Previous AS400 (Aplus) experience preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to multitask and prioritize work
• Ability to work well within a team environment
• Excellent attention to detail
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
• Customer-service focused
• Limited travel (about once a month)
• Bachelor’s degree in related field required
