WAXIE’s Pricing Analyst is responsible for utilizing analytics and knowledge to drive and optimize profitability through the pricing and costing of WAXIE’s Products and Services.

Essential Duties

  • Managing Pricing: Utilizing WAXIE’s Contract Edit portal (SRP), the Pricing Analyst will manage vendor price increases, increase dates, and pricing strategy with the customer base in their assigned region. Administer pricing floors, coordinate pricing approval process, and ensure correct pricing alignments and segmentations.  Conduct regular and ongoing pricing audits for the customer base within assigned region.
  • Negotiating Cost: Communicate regularly with the WAXIE Vendor community and negotiate cost supports based on usage, competitive situation, and vertical market. Negotiate term lengths, pricing levels, and item mix based on customer requirements.  Assist in gathering vendor cost supports for both current and potential customer base and ensuring the correct implementation of cost supports.
  • Vendor Compliance: Registration of our end users with our vendors systems is essential for ensuring that the estimated cost support match to what is actually received.  The Pricing Analyst is required to appropriately register end users with our vendors and ensure that dispenser hardware registration and leasing forms are filled out, signed, and filed appropriately. 
  • Contract Administration & Organization: Utilize tools such as Microsoft SharePoint to file and organize various cost supports both by Vendor and by Customer.  Utilize business intelligence tools to monitor both expiring deviations and contract records and seek renewals when appropriate.
  • Contract and Alignment Recommendations: Continually keep abreast of Vendor Promotions and Special Pricing to analyze whether an end user is qualified to participate. Particularly, the pricing analyst will need to have knowledge of and ability to analyze whether customers would be good candidates to participate in Group Purchasing Cooperatives or strategic segment costing.
  • Sales Support: Conduct Quarterly Portfolio reviews with each sales rep within the assigned region utilizing either video conferencing or in person meetings reviewing top accounts, competitive situations, and opportunities for enhancement. Attend Sales Meetings at least quarterly for all branches within assigned meetings, present and review new programs and contracts/vendors of emphasis.
  • Cost Implementation Support: Conduct Cost Adjustments and Order reprocessing when required to correctly account for new or retroactive contracts, underutilized promotions, or other corrections. Provide secondary support to Cost Implementation Team in the Uploading of Received Contracts.  Monitor expiring cost deviations for strategic end users within assigned region to ensure continuity and consistency of pricing.
  • Bid Support: Participate on RFP, RFI, RFQ, and IFB response teams as required for the assigned region for both public and private entities. Primary assignment will be the procurement of vendor cost support and filing within Microsoft SharePoint.  Pricing Analyst will make product recommendations based on the cost supports received and assist with the evaluation of appropriate pricing.  Finally, support may be required to appropriately format pricing worksheets and submission copies of proposal documentation.
  • Reporting & Analysis: Conduct daily reporting to identify compressing, low, and abnormal profitability on the open and historical orders of various WAXIE products and services for their assigned region. Conduct root cause analysis to determine whether issue is price, cost, or system driven and coordinate solutions to correct.  Additionally, assist branches with advanced analytics on an ad hoc basis with various customer usage reports that is administered utilizing MS SharePoint.  Finally, Observe and analyze Macro pricing and costing trends to best understand costing and pricing dynamics for various product and vertical segments.
  • Travel: Pricing Analysts are required to travel to their assigned branches within their region at least 1x per quarter (5%-10%).
  • Other Duties as Assigned:  Participate on special projects and assignments as directed by management.


  • Education: Bachelors Degree Required, preferred concentration in Business, Economics, or Finance
  • Work Experience: 1-3 Years of Pricing, Cost Implementation, or Sales Support Experience Preferred
  • Industry Experience: Distribution Industry Experience Preferred.  
  • Specialized Skills:
  1. Proficient in Microsoft Word; intermediate Microsoft Excel skills (some experience with formulas/pivot tables preferred).
  2. Clear understanding of profitability drivers in pricing, pricing calculation methods, and how to analyze market pricing.
