    WAXIE is seeking a skilled Senior Staff Accountant to add to their Finance and Accounting Team!


    The Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for contributing to the preparation of accurate and timely monthly financial statements and analysis reports in compliance with official guidelines and requirements. This collaborative position will play a key role in providing detailed and precise financial reports to the WAXIE business community in order to make decisions based on the data provided, enabling WAXIE to maintain a competitive edge in the marketplace.

    Essential Duties


    • Maintain depreciation schedules for all of the corporation’s capital assets
    • Assist with preparations of all accounting records and financial statements on a monthly basis within a group setting
    • Prepare accounting related entries to numerous registers and journals
    • Follow company’s established accounting processes
    • Support accounts payable activities to ensure accuracy of general ledger coding
    • Review general ledger expense accounts monthly for documentation, consistency and accuracy
    • Perform monthly bank settlements, daily bank transactions and regularly maintain detailed reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts
    • Provide detailed analysis and explanations of all transactions
    • Assist with yearly audit documentation
    • Travel as requested to assist in physical inventories or other accounting related functions as needed
    • Prepare discretionary compensation for CFO approval
    • Assist in preparation of tax documentation
    • Prepare analysis of credit card program
    • Other duties as assigned.


    • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required
    • 5+ years’ experience in accounting or related field (CPA preferred)
    • Public accounting experience preferred
    • Highly skilled in dealing with financial and numeric data with an ability to analyze and understand technical forms and financial reports
    • Proficient in MS Office with solid Excel skills and experience utilizing accounting software
    • AS400 software preferred (not required)
    • Professional and effective communication and interpersonal skills
    • Well organized with ability to appropriately prioritize
    • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
    • Willingness to establish and maintain effective working relationships
